Jon's Hulk with a BIG INK

A few people have asked me to post a larger ink. Okay, Jon had a beautiful pencil drawing of the Hulk here, so I'm giving you a huge ink to look at on this one. This is as big as it let's me post.

Jeff Welborn NEW

While posting all of this recent stuff, I got another great drawing from Jeff today. So I inked it. The bear pencils are really incredible, these file sizes just do not do it justice.

Back to Straight Blacks with Nova, Ironman, and Cap

After doing the previous ink, I decided to do straight blacks again with a two page splash by Cornelius.

I must say I was just as pleased by this page of inks as I was with the last. Black and white. No shades of gray.

It's too bad Coenelius has changed his style to the point where he no longer can use an inker because I sure wouldn't mind being the one to finish his pencils.

Hope you enjoy this art as much as I do.

More Werewolf

This picture was my first major breakthrough in inking in a very long time.

I noticed that Cornelius often made some pencils lighter than other pencils for effect. As an inker I've always used black ink on white paper. With this inking I did something different, I started using different degrees of black (gray) and then added minor variations of light washes in shaded areas.

This art could still be colored by colorists but it now has the look of pencils while still being fully inked. I personally think this is the single best page I've ever done, but then again, I'm the only one who knows how much I had to put into it.

The previous Cornelius works had a little of this going on but I was frustrated by his subtle contrasts in those pencils and I wanted to make this one look much more like those pencils.

If no one else can see the difference, I'm okay with that. But from now on, more of my stuff will look like this when I'm dealing with detail oriented pencillers. At least I HOPE it will look more like this.

Werewolf By Night

M Cornelius again.

What If M Cornelius

Here's a sequential page I inked from Cornelius. This guy really puts an awful lot into every page.

M Cornelius Captain Britain

I've discovered a whole bunch of this guy's Marvel pencils. He's never inked because he's so exacting, but I love inking his work any way. I should be posting more of his work with my inks over the next few days. His pencils are mind-boggling.

Rich Bonk The Piper

Lots of Heroes by Marc Ferreira

This sets the record for most characters in one picture that I've inked. The original was a little smaller than I normally ink so I may have missed some details.

Jeff Welborn

This was the latest project Jeff and I worked on. Eulogy for Dirk Manning.

Jeff Welborn Magneto and The X-Men

For anybody that's followed my inking in the past, you'll remember Jeff's name. I've inked more projects with Jeff than any other penciller. Here's his latest with my inks.

Marcio Abreau Cap and Black Widow

Again, this is just a sample. I've never done work for Marvel.

10th Muse Cover by Carl Riley

I have done some work for Blue Water Alias. This cover was not one of those jobs, but I inked it as a sample to show others.

BAM INKS

I ink comics part time, mostly for fun and sometimes for profit. I'll be posting some of my recent samples here. I'll gladly send you hirez samples if you wish.
